But when she wakes up after a mysterious car accident with a gap in her memory, she soon discovers the missing hour is the key to uncovering a secret that could get her killed
Under the Boardwalk Hallie Reed is a thirty-something divorcee who’s had a difficult life. She spent her childhood in the foster care system and ended up marrying an abusive control freak who permanently scarred her. After her divorce, Hallie goes to college and becomes roommates with teenager Windy Madrigal. The two become close friends and Windy invites Hallie to work at her family’s amusement park in Pajaro Bay for the summer. A car accident on the way to Pajaro Bay leaves . Great Mystery To begin with, I like the book generally. It was a light, fast, pleasant read. The mystery aspect is good, although a large amount of suspension of disbelief is needed at times. My main problem with the book is the characterization of the protagonist, Hallie. Her thoughts and actions are disjointed and inconsistent. Her relationship with Kyle (no big spoiler; it starts as soon as they meet) is rushed, especially in light of her supposed antipathy to men, all the way to. Wonderful adventure/mystery Story of family members seeking to find hidden answers of the missing carousel. A lot of danger surrounds the family and small town in the history of the carousel horses that were hand carved. FAmily members are missing as the search becomes more serious. Very historical as the secrets seem to be under their noses
