HeatherMac said Damsel?. The idea behind the story is good; however, the fact that the heroine, who is supposed to be a trained rescue person, is so flighty and stupid to keep getting herself into trouble, makes for a monotonous read. I was just ready for the book to be over.. I wanted to LBDDiaries like the heroine, I really did. She had such promise but she drove me absolutely bonkers. She couldn't make up her mind if she was a warrior or a silly, stupid, ignorant, typical "I know more than the highly trained people" chick. She had training but it was pretty much worthless throughout the whole book. Her "he must die and I must be the one to do it" began to sound pretty dumb when you consider the character was strong when she didn't need to be, weak when she needed to be strong, stupid, stupider, stupidest in so m. Ouch! Good writing, but I had a hard time with some of the violence portrayed in this book. I read a lot of romantic suspense but some of the violent scenes were too harsh for me. No matter how many times the lead characters were injured (gunshots, knife wounds), they just kept getting into more fights. Fairly unrealistic. The romance was sparse in this book. I am curious to read Kai's story but not sure I can stomach it.
