There's a bit of jargony-feeling language (normally I don't recommend anything that uses "heteronormativity" constantly as a fun read), but none of it is unnecessary and it's never hard to understand what she's saying, and she does a good job of interspersing her discussion with first-person stories and concrete examples. Her interest is in exploring the evolution of the feminist movement in. "Beyond any "Great Woman" view of history" according to Beth Elliott. This is a very thorough and nuanced look at how women in the days of "second wave" feminism created resources and space for community through DIY actions. Rather than a "Great Woman" overview of women's liberation leaders/media figures, Enke provides a detailed and intimate look at things supposedly ordinary feminist women did to create nurturing institutions and have fun.
