Major appliances are not all covered!! Steve The title of this book is very misleading they need to change the title to "Troubleshooting and Repairing Major Electrical Appliances." There is no information on gas dryers, gas ranges or gas water heaters. How can you write an appliance repair manual and exclude a major category like all gas app. "This book is ideal for the mechanicaly inclined novice" according to donhulen@io.com. I purchased the book because I had a gas dryer that I was having trouble fixing. I discovered too late that the book does not cover gas dryers. Good for older machines This book has a lot of good information mostly on older machines. Also there is a lot of basic electrical info that could be useful for other repairs. There's even a section on the different types of appliances and how to select the right one. There isn't too much info on newer computer controlled
